Commanders Message

I want to Thank all the members that were able to be in the Patriots Day service on 11 Sep 2003. We had 17 members that were able to participate, there may have been a couple members in the crowd. I want to say a big Thank You to all the people that came to the service that we had and we will be having it again next year.

The News-Gazette was there and took several pictures and 3 of them were in the newspaper. We have posted copies of them on the Latest Updates page. We had 2 families there that we presented Blue Star Banners, for having members of their family in the war. One family was not there and we will present one to them also.

I want to say a Thank You to our membership for going out and getting new members. Again this year we have reached and past the 100% goal. I would like them to keep up the good work and try and get more new members. As we all age, we have no control and we lose some great people, this is why we need to continue to keep our membership going. Any member can pay their dues during coffee shop hours. Adjutant Voss will then get their new membership card to them.

In closing I would like to say this:

A great American Legion is only as good as its membership and ours is the greatest.
